Look twice. Write down what you see.

Pick two real archive frames from one named camera. The notebook keeps the images and their capture times together while you record a fixed landmark, a visible difference and what you still cannot tell. Your writing stays in this browser tab until you copy or print it.

A comparison that can be checked

  1. Choose one camera and two stored frames. The second capture must be later.
  2. Find something fixed in both pictures, such as a roof edge, lift tower or fence rail. Compare that area before describing the wider scene.
  3. Record any clock printed inside the image separately. The archive time is when sno.cam received the frame; the source image may be older.
  4. Describe only what is visible, then write down another possible explanation or missing piece of evidence. Check the operator for access and operating status.

Build your observation

Compare two archive captures

1. Select one camera
2. Choose the two frames

Select archive dates, then individual captures. The labels show sno.cam receipt times in the camera's local timezone. A date can contain many frames; the list loads from the real archive.

3. Record only what you know

Use an object that has not moved between captures.

Describe pixels and landmarks. Do not turn a colour change into a snow-depth estimate.

4. Check the operator

The camera shows a view, not whether a road, lift or activity is open. If you checked an operator or authority report, record its address and what it said. Verify that an address belongs to that organisation before relying on it. Otherwise leave the check marked as not done.

Your observation note

Choose a country and camera. The note will appear here when those details are ready.

How this notebook handles your notes

The camera list and archive frames come from sno.cam. Your landmark, observations and status notes are not submitted or saved on the server. Copy or print a finished note before closing the tab. Camera imagery may be subject to its publisher's terms and other rights. This notebook is a way to inspect it, not an official conditions report.
