Legal, content rights and takedown

sno.cam is operated by Darcy O'Connor in Australia. It is not operated by, affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any resort, tourism body, webcam operator, lift company, road authority, weather provider or emergency service shown on the site.

Accessing the site means accepting these terms. A person who does not accept them should stop using the site. These terms do not remove rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable rights under Australian consumer law.

Webcam images, streams, resort names, logos, maps, source pages, weather observations and snow reports remain subject to the copyright, trade mark, licence, contract and attribution requirements of their respective owners and providers. sno.cam does not claim ownership of third-party camera imagery or imply that an operator has endorsed the archive.

The project adds its own archive system, timestamps, navigation, change detection, source links, location research and editorial text. Public accessibility and attribution alone are not treated as permission to store, republish or commercially monetise another party's material.

A camera operator, rights holder or authorised representative may request corrected attribution, a lower capture frequency, removal of a camera, removal of stored frames or another reasonable restriction. Email [email protected].

A request should identify the camera or material, provide the official source URL, state the requested action and explain the requester's authority. The operator will acknowledge the request, preserve relevant correspondence, investigate the claim and take proportionate action. Clearly identified material may be temporarily restricted while a credible dispute is assessed. The outcome and any action taken will be sent to the requester.

Factual errors can be reported without asserting ownership. The contact page explains what information makes a correction easier to verify.

A timestamp records when sno.cam captured or stored a frame; it may not be the exact time at which the source camera produced the image. Cameras and observations can be stale, delayed, obscured, offline or incorrectly configured. A weather station may be distant from or at a different elevation to the camera. Legacy cached weather values are modelled estimates where labelled.

Camera images and archived observations are not official operational or safety reports. AU Snow Cams does not provide road, lift, avalanche, bushwalking, weather-warning, emergency or medical advice. Official operators and authorities remain the authoritative source for those matters.

Visitors may browse and link to public pages for lawful personal or editorial purposes. A visitor must not attempt to bypass access controls, interfere with the service, overload the site, probe private infrastructure, scrape at a rate that impairs availability, use the archive to misrepresent an operator's current conditions, or reuse third-party imagery in a way that infringes another party's rights.

Advertising is not permission to reuse third-party material. The camera and archive viewer is excluded from advertising requests. Original editorial pages can become eligible for Google Auto Ads only after the site's separate consent and content-rights release gates are complete.

Advertising must remain distinguishable from editorial content and must not imitate navigation, encourage clicks or interfere with camera and playback controls. More detail about advertising data and regional consent appears in the privacy and cookies policy.

The archive is supplied on an as-is and as-available basis. To the maximum extent allowed by law, no warranty is given that it will be complete, accurate, uninterrupted, current, secure or suitable for a particular purpose. The operator may correct, restrict, suspend or discontinue any source or feature.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for loss arising from reliance on a camera frame, timestamp, weather value, snow report, external link or service interruption. Nothing in these terms limits liability where the law does not allow it to be limited.

These terms are governed by the laws applicable to the Australian operator. Any mandatory consumer, privacy or other protections in a visitor's location continue to apply where they cannot lawfully be displaced.
